At ESi, we have expertise in a number of different data capture methods. One common way to capture data is by scanning an object. Scanning works by measuring points on an object, then using those points to create a 3D rendering of it.
There are a few different types of scanning we use at ESi, depending on the needs of the project. Two common types are 3D Laser Scanning and CT (Computed Tomography) Scanning. While both methods generate 3D data to facilitate virtual measurements, there are some important differences between the two technologies.
