KSR Teleflex KSR v. Teleflex (Mechanical Engineering) – DI created animations for KSR, demonstrating the operation of adjustable foot pedals in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision on obviousness as applied to patent claims. The Solicitor General of the United States stated, “[The] Petitioner has supplied an animation that helpfully illustrates that point.”

Winters Smith Uniloc v. Microsoft (Software) – DI created animations to examine the authorization process used by Microsoft to prevent unlicensed use of its product. Uniloc, which had patented the technology in 1992, used the animation to show how Microsoft infringed it's patent. The jury agreed, finding that Microsoft had willfully infringed Uniloc's patent and awarding Uniloc $388 million, one of the largest damages awards ever for a patent litigation.

Affymetrix Illumina Affymetrix v. Illumina (Biotechnology) – DI’s graphics illustrating DNA microarray technology helped Affymetrix’s attorneys show that Illumina infringed several Affymetrix patents. The verdict ultimately led to a $90 million settlement for Affymetrix.

Sprint Vonage Sprint v. Vonage (Telecommunications) – After rendering the $69.5 million verdict in Sprint’s favor, jurors said that DI’s animated tutorial made Sprint’s patent claims regarding Vonage’s voice over Internet service easy to understand. The case subsequently settled for $80 million.

Modern Continental v. Massachusetts Highway Department Modern Continental, et al. v. Massachusetts Highway Department (Construction) – DI created animations to explain how site conditions affected the foundation construction process for a new bridge, resulting in increased costs. The animation assisted the legal team at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald, L.L.P. in obtaining a favorable settlement for the contractor and the bonded surety.

Winters Smith Winters v. Smith (Ground Vehicle Accident) – When faced with a plaintiff’s animation of a traffic accident, trial attorney Rich Hawley of Kightlinger & Gray, L.L.P. decided to use DI’s engineering expertise and animation capabilities to help defend his client, a farmer who was driving large machinery. When the legal team contacted DI, it was close to the trial date, but DI was able to provide services that changed the course of the case, leading to a favorable settlement for the defendant.
