DI created animations demonstrating how the addition of an electronic position sensor to an adjustable foot pedal was a simple combination of prior art designs.  DI's ability to create accurate 3D models of prior art proved invaluable in aiding the attorneys arguing against the validity of the KSR patent.  Because these animations were entered into the record, they followed the case on appeal, ultimately to the US Supreme Court.

DI created animations to help counsel for Uniloc teach a jury about the authorization process used by Microsoft to prevent unlicensed use of its software products.  The jury found for Uniloc, awarding $388 million.  The U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island ultimately vacated the jury's verdict, concluding that the jury lacked a legally sufficient basis for the finding.

DI’s graphics illustrating DNA microarray technology helped Affymetrix’s attorneys show that Illumina infringed several Affymetrix patents.  A blend of PowerPoint, 3D animations, and rendered stills from 3D models that DI created of Illumina's infringing devices were used in the trial that was held in the U.S. District Court in the District of Delaware.

DI’s animated tutorial made Sprint’s patent claims regarding Vonage’s voice over Internet service easy to understand.  The ability to effectively educate the jury boosted Sprint's experts credibility with the jury.  A $69.5 million verdict was rendered in Sprint's favor.

DI created animations to help Watt  Tieder attorneys explain how site conditions and the actions of a second contractor affected the foundation construction process for a new bridge in the Boston area.  Complex sites and sequences of events are common in construction disputes and these complicated issues can often be simplified accurately using 3D animation techniques.  Animations can bring much needed clarity to a complicated case.

DI’s engineering expertise and animation capabilities helped defend a farmer who was involved in an accident while driving large machinery on a public roadway.  DI's ability to quickly create accurate animations of the accident sequence allowed the defense counsel to effectively counter the plaintiff's inaccurate animations.  In fact, DI produced visuals that showed the jury that the plaintiff's animations did not adhere to the laws of physics.
