KSR Obviousness.
DI created animations for KSR, demonstrating the operation of adjustable foot pedals in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision on obviousness as applied to patent claims. The Solicitor General of the United States stated, "[The] Petitioner has supplied an animation that helpfully illustrates that point."
Vacuum Cleaner.
DI brought a 1960s model vacuum cleaner back to life to show that the plaintiff's patent claims from a patent issued in the 1990s could be read directly on it. The plaintiff dropped their claim shortly after being presented with the animation by the defendant's attorney.
Tire Inflation System.
DI's animation helped the court understand the distinctions between the accused automatic constant tire inflation system and the accuser's patents. The video helped achieve a favorable claim construction and a subsequent non-infringement ruling on summary judgment.
Bubble Wrap Inflation Machine.
One of several prior art embodiments brought to life in 3D animation to show that a series of patents on inflatable packaging material machines were invalidated. The jury returned a favorable verdict for DI's client on all but one count. View pdf of jury verdict.
